EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE

Last updated: August 2026

Forty Forward Health maintains full editorial independence. This page explains how we make content decisions and what we don’t do.

OUR EDITORIAL PROCESS

Every article we publish goes through:

  1. Topic selection based on reader interest and emerging research

  2. Research using peer-reviewed sources (Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Health, etc.)

  3. Writing by our wellness editor

  4. Fact-checking against original sources

We do not use AI to generate editorial content. All articles are written and edited by humans.

WHAT WE DON’T DO

We do not accept:

  • Paid placements (companies paying us to publish specific content)

  • Sponsored posts (content promoting a specific product for payment)

  • Advertorials (ads disguised as editorial articles)

  • Free products in exchange for coverage

  • Compensation for favorable reviews

  • Payment to suppress negative coverage

We DO use affiliate links for some products we recommend. Our editorial recommendations are never influenced by these relationships — we only promote products we’d recommend whether or not we earned a commission.

OUR EDITORIAL STANDARDS

We will:

  • Cite sources for any health claims

  • Note when information is preliminary or evolving

  • Disclose when an article discusses a product we have an affiliate relationship with

  • Correct errors promptly and transparently

We will not:

  • Promote products we don’t believe in

  • Make health claims we can’t source

  • Use fear-based marketing

  • Exploit reader vulnerabilities (health anxiety, body image, etc.)

OUR WRITERS

Our wellness editor is Mara (fictional byline used for editorial consistency). She is not a medical professional. All health-related content is reviewed against published medical research before publication.

AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE

Some links in our articles may be affiliate links. Our editorial recommendations are never influenced by these relationships. Read our full Affiliate Disclosure .
